ALS+ Lou Gehrig's Disease= Our Father!

Come Join us at a walk to defeat Lou Gehrig's Disease, Also Known as ASL ( Amyotrophic lateral Sclerosis) ALS is a neurodegenerative disease that usually attacks both upper and lower motor neurons and causes degeneration throughout the brain and spinal cord. A common first symptom is a painless weakness in a hand, foot, arm, or leg, which occurs in most cases. Other early symptoms include speech swallowing or walking difficulty!
Most people who develop ALS are between the ages of 40 and 70, with an average age of 55 at the time of diagnosis! ALS is 20% more common in men rather than women!

Unfortunately as horrible as the disease sounds, my dear father Ken was recently diagnosed with ALS. He had the same exact early on symptoms. We thought it could possibly be a pinched nerve in his spine or maybe a tumor in his brain. We were wrong. As the symptoms kept on worsening we started getting a bit worried! Sure enough my Father at the age of 52 is Diagnosed with THE LOU GEHRIGH's ALS DISEASE!

He is now unable to work or drive!

In honor of our dear Father we would like to ask all of those who can contribute in either a donation or to come walk with us to defeat ALS!

When: Saturday October 18,2008

Where: William R. Mason Park, Irvine, CA

* To reach the park, take the San Diego freeway (405) to culver ave. exit. head south on Culver to University Drive, then west (right) to the park entrance.

Registration: Begins at 8:30AM

Ceremony: Begins at 9:30AM

Walk: begins 10:00AM

Picnic & FUN to follow!

3. Click to left of that web page on "Register to Walk"

4. Click on "2008 Walk to Defeat ALS- Irvine, CA Saturday October 18th"

5. Click on "Join a Team" under the "WALK" button

6. Fill out Team name: The Brady Bunch

Team Type: Family

7. Click on Join Next to Nicole Thompson's name & register!
